tesa Introduces New Adhesives for Pulp & Paper Industry

Company officials of tesa tape, inc., an affiliate of tesa SE, a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, are pleased to announce an enhancement to its line of repulpable splicing products for the pulp and paper industry. This line of products is now equipped with a new adhesive system specifically designed for use with pulp and paper products that contain calcium carbonate fillers and coatings.

tesa® repulpable splicing tapes have become industry standards for creating permanent splices in long-length paper stock rolls. Recognizing the industry’s trend toward increased usage of the calcium carbonate pigment and fillers within pulp mixtures and paper coatings, the tesa research and development team created a highly-engineered adhesive system designed exclusively for its line of permanent splicing tapes for paper manufacturers. The new adhesive formulation is highly optimized to resist chemical reactions with calcium carbonate in both pulp and coating mixtures, thus overcoming the issues related with typical tape adhesive systems when they encounter the calcium carbonate element.

The tesa products that now harbor the new, optimized adhesive system are:
