tesa tape, inc. & USA Olympic Skeleton Team Renew Relationship

Company officials of tesa tape, inc., an affiliate of tesa SE, a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, are pleased to announce that the company has renewed its sponsorship of the USA Skeleton team. With this sponsorship commitment, tesa tape, inc., retains its status as the “official adhesive tape supplier” to the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation (USBSF).

Representatives from both organizations inked the sponsorship agreement in late November, which solidifies the business relationship through the team’s 2014 season. As detailed in the agreement, each party has been granted rights to use select promotional materials from the other party to further promote both brands.

As the official adhesive tape supplier, tesa tape, inc. will provide the team with highly-specialized adhesive tapes to optimize the team’s equipment. According to Tuffy Latour, skeleton head coach, “tesa tape is an important part of our equipment because it actually holds the padding to the pod and helps the aerodynamic flow around the sled. We use tesa on any open areas to reduce drag, which is essential in a sport measured to the hundredths of a second. We trust tesa tape as a world leader in adhesive tapes to help take us to the podium.”

The 2011 – 2012 season for the USA Bobsled and Skeleton team began in November, and the team has already won 43 international medals just weeks into the competitive year. The season will culminate back in the U.S. with 2012 World Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y. in February, 2012, where the team is favored for gold.
