tesa® 52820 Softprint Secure is a double-coated foam tape, designed specifically for print process security in wide-web flexographic printing. The revolutionary adhesive system holds printing plate edges securely down, even thick photopolymer plates, on minimal diameter sleeves or cylinders. This makes this product the ideal solution for faster printing speeds, longer print jobs, and designs that require minimal joints.

The open side adhesive is designed to function on steel and sleeves. The covered side of adhesive is different.

The hard foam makes this the ideal solution for printing solids.

Foam properties:

• Highly compressible foam, with superior recovery behavior for excellent print quality
  
• Long lasting recovery characteristic for extended and high-speed print runs
  
• Low thickness tolerances for quick print preparation and reduced waste
  

Adhesive properties:

• High bonding to plate to avoid edge lifting or plate movement
  
• High bonding on open side to steel cylinder or sleeve to avoid plate movement
  
• Low initial bonding power for easy repositioning of the plate
  
• Ideal bonding power for demounting of plate and tape
  
• Very cohesive adhesive structure for demounting without adhesive residues
  
• Touch and feel of tack seems low but does not affect bonding strength
  

Additional properties

• The structured polypropylene liner prevents the formation of air pockets when plate mounting
  
• Blue color marking indicates the hard foam

tesa® 52820 Softprint Secure is a 500µm (20 mil) category double-coated foam tape, designed specifically for mounting photopolymer plates of thickness 1.70mm (0.067"), 2.54mm (0.100") and above in wide-web film and paper flexographic printing, on machines using steel cylinders or sleeves.
