tesa Labeling Systems For Printing • For Coding • For Branding
CHICAGO, IL – Label Expo Edition – September 11, 2006 – Company officials of tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, are proud to present three distinct solutions for labeling and marking applications. These unique solutions are specifically engineered for: 1) label printing, 2) unit coding and marking, and 3) brand protection.
Label Printing
When it comes to flexographic printing, one would be hard “pressed” to find a more comprehensive product line than tesa tape’s “toolbox” of custom plate mounting tapes. With foam products ranging from 15 to 60 mils in thickness, the tesa tape “toolbox” includes foams with varying degrees of hardness to meet the rigorous demands of solid, combination, process, and fine screen printing.
Most notably for label printers, tesa offers hard foam (tesa 52015) and soft foam (tesa 52017) tapes with an adhesive combination specifically tailored for thicker printing plates and narrow diameter cylinders. Should a printer use thinner plates and a larger diameter cylinder, tesa offers the same foam hardness with a plate-side adhesive that resists lifting during the print process and removes cleanly without destroying printing plates (tesa 52115 hard and tesa 52117 soft).
With the “tesa toolbox” technology, tesa is uniquely positioned to match the requirements of your artwork with the requirements of your equipment. Additionally, tesa offers a line of 5mil film tapes specifically engineered for compressible sleeves.
Coding & Marking
When unique unit coding or marking is needed, tesa laser labels mark the spot. These diverse labels can be engraved using laser-writing technology and can be completely customized for marking or coding applications. One of the biggest advantages of tesa laser labels is their ability to be generated both off-line and in-line (during unit manufacturing and assembly processes).
tesa laser labels - tesa 6930 and tesa 6931 – are equipped with a high-performance acrylic adhesive that provides a very firm bond on different surfaces, such as painted surfaces, steel, aluminum, and many plastics. These labels have excellent resistance against high and low temperatures and UV rays, as well as being extremely resistant to thermal, chemical, and physical influences. Additionally, tesa 6930 laser labels offer various security features; they are inherently brittle in nature and break apart if someone tries to remove the label. Other security features can be permanently added into each label, such as advanced embossing, micro-scripting, and a “footprint”, which is a special UV pigment that is added to the adhesive.
One of tesa’s latest innovations – tesa 6931 – is equipped with color-changing pigments that activate when information is printed onto the label. tesa 6931 is also available in a “process” label version which includes several clear protective layers on top of the actual label. The protective layers can be peeled away after a painting process is complete, thus revealing the originally-imprinted information.
Security & Authentication – Brand Protection
From manufacture to transport to trade outlet, products and their components are exposed to the danger of being manipulated, counterfeited, or intercepted. tesa-Scribos offers a wide range of products and systems for: 1) covertly and overtly encoding genuine goods at item level, and 2) securing goods and deterring manipulation throughout the logistics chain.
tesa labeling systems . . . for Printing . . . for Coding . . . for Branding! For over a century, tesa tape has pioneered the development of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape technologies. Today, the company operates 11 manufacturing and converting facilities around the globe and services customers in over 50 countries. With over 800 product patents to date, tesa’s charter is to provide customers with adhesive tape solutions beyond the roll.
