CHARLOTTE, NC; May 17, 2001; tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, revealed today an addition to its extensive line of adhesive paper masking tapes. tesa 4308, a high-performance, finely-creped, paper masking tape, joins the company's broad array of paper masking tapes designed for precision vehicle painting applications.
tesa 4308 has been specially developed for the demanding paint masking applications for transportation vehicles in the OEM environment, such as trucks, commercial vehicles, buses, boats, motorcycles, RVs, etc. tesa 4308 is also well-suited for repair paint masking applications in the collision repair industry (Auto Aftermarket).
The custom formulation of tesa 4308 renders the product a variety of attractive benefits over many other paper masking tapes on the market, including:
1) an exceptional initial high tack level
2) excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including rubber, plastic, and glass
3) an extremely smooth and flexible backing allowing for sharp, flat, and clean paint edges
4) the ability to withstand high temperatures - up to 275°F - during the baking process
5) residue-free removal when the paint job is complete
Evaluations of tesa 4308 by several transportation vehicle manufacturers have resulted in very positive feedback. One such customer had this to say about the new tesa product: "The residue-free result after de-masking was very impressive. The initial tack was considerably more noticeable than the competitor's product, and the fine-crepe backing was much easier to handle and apply."
