CHARLOTTE, NC - February 1, 2001 - tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, announced today its newest product innovation designed for secure closure, transport, and storage of cartons containing valuable merchandise. This new tape - tesa 64007 - is the latest addition to the company's vast line of packaging tapes.
tesa 64007 is a tamper-evident carton sealing tape intended to help reduce product theft during transport and storage of cartons. This new tape increases the security of cartons in two ways: 1) when removed from the box, tesa 64007 leaves the message "OPENED" in five different languages on the carton; and 2) the tamper-evident message remains visible after re-closure attempts by thieves.
The combination of the tamper-evident message, the polypropylene (PP) backing, and the water-based acrylic adhesive increases the security of packages and their contents during shipment. Additionally, the tape's unique apricot yellow color further decreases the likelihood of a thief attempting to reseal the package with a similar-colored tape.
tesa 64007 is ideal for companies that produce or distribute high-theft items such as electronic goods, high-value branded clothing, tobacco products, A / V CDs / DVDs and tapes, pharmaceuticals, jewelry / watches, computer devices and software. This cutting-edge tape is available in standard hand rolls and long-length rolls for machine applications.
A West Coast producer of semi-conductors was extremely impressed with the product, stating: "The in-transit theft rate at our company is growing each year, and we are constantly looking for affordable ways to reduce that rate. The biggest area affected by theft is our indirect costs. We will use tesa 64007 to help reduce our theft rate and increase our profitability."
