tesa tape, inc. IS NOMINATED FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The company has been nominated for "The Governor's International Community and Economic Development Award".
tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, has been recognized once again for its community support and involvement. The company has been nominated for "The Governor's International Community and Economic Development Award". This award is sponsored by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and co-sponsored by the North Carolina State Ports Authority.

The Governor's Award was established as a way of recognizing corporate participation within the community. Candidates for this award were judged on four main criteria: 1) Community Impact, 2) Executive Leadership and Commitment, 3) Corporate Mission Statement and Values, and 4) Employee Participation and Involvement. tesa was one of three finalists for the small business category.

This nomination comes just one year after tesa was presented with Charlotte's MICA Award (Mayor's International Community Award), an honor issued to foreign-owned firms that have made significant contributions to the city's non-profit sector.

tesa participates in numerous community service projects throughout the year, including: Hands-On-Charlotte, March of Dimes Walk-a-Thons, Christmas Bureau, Tools for Schools, food, clothing, and blood drives. tesa also makes financial contributions to several local charity organizations.

The North American division's President and CEO, Torsten Schermer, received a plaque recognizing tesa as an award finalist at a ceremony held in Raleigh on October 23rd, 2001. The plaque was presented by Secretary James T. Fain, III, of the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Secretary Fain was representing Governor Easley at this event.

tesa tape, inc. manufactures and markets pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes in four primary product categories: double-sided tapes, masking tapes, packaging tapes, and other commonly used tapes (such as duct and cellophane). tesa has its regional North American headquarters in Charlotte, NC, with manufacturing facilities in Middletown, NY; Sparta, MI; and numerous other plants around the world.
