TESA REACHES ANOTHER MILESTONE IN QUALITY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Receives ISO/TS 16949 Certification
|

CHARLOTTE, NC, USA - May 19, 2004 - Today, company officials of tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, were granted final certification for an ISO (International Standard Organization) quality assurance standard - ISO/TS 16949:2002 - the governing quality guideline designed for suppliers to the automotive industry. This certification is a further enhancement to the company's quality management program, which also includes certification to ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
Already familiar with ISO 9001:2000 standard requirements, tesa company officials began further improving and enhancing their quality management systems in late 2003, with the intention of seeking the ISO/TS 16949:2002 certification in 2004.
The company's Vice President of Operations, Gordon Jones, expounded on the certification: tesa has a long-standing commitment to quality management, not just in our product attributes, but in all our business systems as well. We have invested heavily in developing our capabilities to satisfy all the needs of our current and prospective automotive customers, whether for product performance, delivery, reliability, or service and response".
