tesa 51136 is a self-adhesive polyethylene tape for masking large areas of plastic parts during professional painting processes, e.g. as an overmaksing tape for the production of two-tone bumpers for the automotive industry.
The tesa 51136 has a high resistance against all standard methods of surface pretreatment like flaming, powerwash, or plasmas treatment. The backing of the tape sllows soft and easy unwinding and goves good anchorage to solvent- or water-based paints.
The color of the tape provides a good contrast to dark surfaces making the positioning easier and faster.
Coated with an acrylic adhesive, the tape has a good tack also to embossed plastic surfaces and does not life off during oven-drying (maximum temperature 212°F for 1 hour). After the drying process, tesa 51136 can be removed easily in warm and cold conditions wihtout adhesive residues or tearing.
